Re-Routing harnesses in the fender wells?

I figure a bunch of you guys have done it to avoid your tires from rubbing on the harnesses, so what did you do to pull it into the engine bay?

or are there other options?

put it sandwiched behind the fender, way easier than rerouting through the engine bay.

yeah the koukis are a PIA to re-route. iEATrice had to cut and resolder his because the harness plug was tooo big to fit through the hole. The zenkis have it easier because the plug does fit through the hole. Good luck.

Do any of the wires need to be extended at all? or is it a matter of unplugging, then enlarge the hole, reroute it, and plug it back in?

I can tell you tomorrow. I gotta do this myself and it's on my list of to-dos for the weekend. I ordered a set of 17x9+22's and want to try and run 245's up there

I shuldn't have to but if I do I'll run the meaty 225-45 azenis sports... but I'd rather roll the fenders and move the harness and fit the 245's... I know Orion and a few others run 245's up front on 17x 9's+25, I just don't know if they had to fuck with the harness or not.

Harness is exactly the same in size and has the same plugs for all S14s, there's no need to cut anything. It pulls through from the otuside, but you don't have to unplug a thing to move it.

All you need to do to relocate the harness is cut the OE clips, drill a few holes in the upper lip, and reattach it above the lip. Takes literally 5 minutes with the fender off.

There's another way to really move the rearward part if you want the room, there's a triangular section of steel just below the ledge, cut it out and run the harness in it's place, that will pull it up real tight at the back and give all the clerance you'll ever need.

I might take pics tommorrow if I feel friendly.

actually this is dousan_pg on baby's computer
we moved everything
relocated and extended

its actually a pretty straight forward job, just takes some time to extend/shorten/make sure it works.

that's a lot of wiring to move. You feel it was worth it? How many wires did you have to extend? and where did you run the loom? Pics of the fuse box in its current location?

why move fuse box to the rear of the trunk? that is alot of work. moving it into the glove box/under dash area would've been more easier. btw, this is called wireless engine bay. just some names for people to remember heh.

^^^also key words to search.

Where would you put it under the dash? What if something went out, think it would be pain to get to it? In the trunk there is tons of room.

who said i put the fuse box in the trunk???
its behind the passenger seat in the 'cubby hole' (i have no rear interior)
no i wont put it under the dash
my friend did that, regreteed it
and i cant
roll cage. hello!
glove box? no ma'am, thast for ECU

where i put it work sperfect and doesnt interfere w/ any space

worth it? yes
how many wires. dont remember wasnt that much
pretty straightforward job. mike at garage works helped me out it was my first time
he had done it on his car and some others.

anyways. i like mine. do what you will
i have no room under dash for such nonsense

ill probably go painless kit anways. s14 is les and les on the street.
