s15 convertion...opinions

Well I recked the front of my car and I am now looking to do a different front end since my popups wont work like they used to... so s15 I am aiming at now.

my top picks are Ings, Origin lab, version select, GP sport, charge speed.

Just need some votes and maybe some pics of peoples rides before i finally decide on what to go with.

in the mean time I can work on grabbing parts for my NEO project.

They look so great... i just need to see some car that will just win me over. i have been looking at then all today for atleast an hour and still cant make up my mind... might even do some photochops with my color i have on the car already to see which I may go for. I have a maroon red right now

It looks like your air bags didnt come out, so it could be worth fixing.
my air bags came out and it was toatled.

IMO s15 front belongs on nothing except s15, and s13 hatch.

If your looking at doing a s15 face you should definitely use only good quality parts, seems the brands you listed there qualify. Too bad everyone is jumping on the s15 face trend recently, so you should try something different to stand apart from all of the VIS and Version select users.

I went with the GP sports G4 front since its extremely simple and clean with a fat lip on it. Also at the time there was only one documented car with it and that was in Florida, and I am in California, so no chance of seeing my kit one someone elses car. (P.S. don't go with this kit, be a man do the right thing)



As far as my personal preference goes, I like s15 bumpers that don't have the vent/grill in-between the headlights since it gives the car a sleek look. The opening messes up the look and makes it look similar to a late model s14, however im sure the grill opening allows better cooling, whatever moot argument.

If I was to replace my bumper in the case something happened *knock on wood* I would pick from these three.

1. Top Secret - Similar to GP G4, but with a wider center mouth and side vents


2. Yashio Factory - Like Top Secret but no side vents



3. Do-Luck Aero Wivern - Aggressive looking, never seen it on any car


All of those are probably $$$ but if your doing a conversion I assume you have $$$ to blow on needless cosmetics anyways...

What kind of car do you have?

If its an S13 hatch I say go for it, just pick the right front bumper. Bomex = Fail.

If its an S14... meh I never liked s15 front on s14s, doesnt flow, same with s13 coupes.

Been busy and now I have time to post back. Originally looked into getting an s13 front end with the square head lights *non projectors* but I now found someone who can get me a s15 front end *the fenders and headlights and other parts required except for the bumper for much less than a s13 front end and cheaper than getting my popups repaired. too bad work has the Yashio Factory images blocked.

yes this is for a hatch! going for a clean lines type of front end to flow with the rest and the car. the top secret im no fan of..if I go gp I will stay away from the g4 *just for our few members that do have it*

I will post back when I get home and hopefully have time to do some deeper searching into rare front bumpers of the s15. another reason I like the s15 front is because stuff like the turn signals and parking lights are all in headlights... no need for extra lamps like zenki ones for the s13 front ends or turn and parking to do a kouki front bumper "correctly". Plus I have access to the H.I.D. s15 headlights *unless they are all HID then its nothing special I guess*

the optional Aero bumper is the best looking imho, i think it's urethane as well, but rare and expensive. There are fiber glass versions on ebay, but i doubt they'd hav stock quality or anything close to it.


Sadly, I have yet to see side skirts for the S13 or S14 that flow with it, it hangs pretty low but after market skirts flare out too much from what i've seen.

maybe with some luck I might be able to get them side skirts to go in terms of flow... going to take a lot of photoshop/callin up my vendor for info like that since I dont know of anyone that runs s15 front here in az....that I can meet

ok here are how things are ;

ing for clean lines! kazama is second up for agressiveness and clean
and my last option will be origin lab. rest will either not work in terms of slow or are too agressive.

+1 for Ings very nice quality and very clean and simple looking. If not i would say yashio should be your #2 pick.

clean lines? okay, you do realize that the frontfenders of the S15 have that nice little ridge that looks like balls on an S13 and S14 due to the fact that we have no such ridge. S15 front end warrants rear fender flares IMO.

flow or no flow? too bad I cant find the type I kit for the 180 model.

either that or the ings or the main choices now... the ings looks like winner as in terms of easy to get flow with no hacking.

Might have to choice a different GP aero if I dont find too much confort with flow that the type 2 with type 1 creates...maybe the zero series.

*just found a place that has the type 1 stuff... anyone have any images of the 180 model type 1 of the sonic series?

thanks for that note I will investigate that further and see if fender flares all around are either a need or if I can get away with it at the body shop.
