this is a pretty dumb question but i seem to be having the hardest time installing the windshield wiper motor on my car (97 240) i cant seem to connect the ball joint into the socket, reason is because 1. i cant get my finger to hold up the wiper socket and connect it at the sametime because there is not enough room, and 2. are the wipers or the motor suppose to be in a certain angle while installing it? thanx in advance

Pull off the cowl, you can then access the back of the motor easier.
