Sway bar recommendations-Drift only application
I need some opinions and facts on this matter. First, my car:
'89 240 coupe w/ SR(maybe 230 rwhp) GP Sports inverted coil-overs(non adjustable valving) Home made Nismo powerbrace CP racing triangulated strut thingies front and rear TC rods, new lower control arms, Battle version RUCA's Peak performance inner tie rod ends, S14 Tein outter ones Box'd the frame rails on car(Great results!) Good Drift alignment from good shop 6 point cage coming in January Stock sway bars--- I only use my car at monthly drift events- Drift Buffet/Land-Ho.net, Driftday, Just drift. I was going to get Whiteline adjustable sways, but started thinking if I really need all that adjustability. Or if any good brand(???) of non adjustable sways will work best in my application. I Maybe even some local places in So. Cal-Long Beach to purchase said sway bars. Thanks |

this is a subjective question and situation. Basically some people will like some bars and some people will not. I tend to feel that your rear swaybar definitely benefits from being adjustable i.e. Whiteline. Some people do not like the Whiteline some people do. Some people like the Tanabe bars. Some people like the Largus bars( D1 drivers use these a lot). Tanabe bars are cheaper and they are good.
Swaybar tuning is again a subjective thing. Its up to you to figure out how much roll stiffness you want. P.S. there are a lot of guys in Japan that use the stock JDM sways. Which are actually bigger than our stock ones. Super Hicas cars come with these stock here.
