I put HID bulbs re-potted to H1 in the stock projectors. I had been running them for about a year now.

Better than the PIAA's I had:


But the light output in a halogen projector left something to be desired:


I just got e46 E-codes to fix that problem:

how much different is the s14 projector compared to a s13 projector? im wondering how much different it would be to do this on a silvia headlight.

wild, that wont mater. with the s13 silvia projector headlight, a retrofit can be done because the OG lights have halogen projectors. finding the best projectors to fit it is the hard part. putting projectors onto a headlight that doesn't have projectors is a whole other job.

OP, very nice so far. I'm glad to see more people doing HID correctly.

I've done E-class bi-xenon retrofit into the s13 silvia headlight over a year ago. The projector is quite big because of the bi-xenon mechinism so I had to chuck it into the origial high beam spot.

But it is nice and fun to be probibly the only s13 silvia in the world to have bi-xenon! =)

^^ do your low beams still work? can u take closer pix of how they look and the back of them? also some in car nite shots? thats awesome maybe i can fit the regular xenon projectors in the lowbeam.

You have to get a real small Valeo projector for the Lows. They are really short in length.

i looked up valeo projectors on ebay and got only the projector but didnt get anything that looked like a ballast. not even a bulb. do they all come like that?

Yes, projectors are just that...projectors. If you want projectors, ballast and bulbs look here....

Thanks again for hosting my write-up S14DB. To anyone that reads it I must stress that what you do with the back of the housing is purely up to you....meaning don't follow what I did (unless you like it). I plan to do another retrofit and write-up (with Valeo projectors), but this time I'm not hacking up the back of the housing.

awesome link thanx. just to make sure i got it straight, the valeo is the shortest one then right? in turn letting me fit it into a headlight (ie. s13 silvia)?

my low beams are actually my fog lights now, i chucked some yellow bulbs behind them. I've posted night shots before on the forum, but I lost the pictures, now I'm too lazy to take them pictures... But there's lots o cutting in there, none the less I can still use the factory adjusting screw to adjust the headlight!
