Wiring on the Body harness

Well here is the problem, my tires were rubbing and then they cut the body harness under the wheel wells. So i soldered them together properly adn now my cluster doesn't work (tach, odometer, speedometer, gas guage) but everything else works ....then i figured i would relocate the harness in the car. i was stupid, i cut the harness and soldered what i thought were the same wires. However i got hell problems....Anyone have ideas? I figured a volt meter would be my best bet but then that means i have to have all appiliances on when i test it therefor i can short it right? can this be done without the battery and is there a wiring diagram anywhere....basically i am screwed. If anyone can help i would really appreciate it, if anyone for sure knows how to fix it, i would pay for their time. 92 S13 Convertible
