Last week i recieved my Apexi ExV Coilovers from Intense Motorsports. They have some bad customer service and bad shipping. My opinion, dont ever shop there!! The next day, i recieved my Tanabe front and rear strut bars from Options Auto Salon. Very good people, and super great shipping, it was at my front door the day after i ordered it. Ok to the install....... things u need is 3/8 ratchet and 3/8x3 extension,14mm deep socket, 12mm deep socket, 1/2x19mm socket, 1/2x17mm socket, 1/2 ratchet, some good jackstands and a torque wrench. it might be helpful to have 2 people installing it. Here we go.... >First slap ur car into some jack stands >Loosen the lug nuts and take of the wheel >Starting in the front, when ur wheel is off, take off the two bolts on the strut with a 19mm and the smaller with the 17mm on the other side. Also make sure to support the lower control arm with a jack. Make sure there is no tension at all or it will........do something very bad...hahah >Make sure the other wheel on the other side is off the ground because there would be tension on the sway bar and will be dangerous >Then make sure u take out the brake line and be careful of it DONT DAMAGE IT!! >While the jack is supporting the old suspension. Take off the strut bolts at the top with a 14mm. Its best to let someone hold the strut below when u loosen and take off the bolts. >Time to slap on the babies.....get ur desired coilover and loosely bolt the 3 bolts at the top of the strut. (u will tighten later) >Now jack up the suspension in place to bolt the other 2 bolts. Jack it up till the holes are lined up and insert the bolts. >Now put in the brake line and other stuff if needed. >Adjust the height if u want to now or later >Then time to torque wrench the bolts.....the Apex recommended torque numbers are the top strut are 27.4~34.3 Nm the 2 bolts below are to the Stock Nissan recommendatoin which is 87-108ft.lbs (118-147Nm) >The do the same at the other side Now to the Rear >Same kinda thing in the front....put it up with jack stands... take off the wheel. >Unbolts that one bolt at the bottom of the strut with a 17mm. >Make sure to support the rear suspension with a jack again >Take off the 2 bolts at the top of th strut near the speakers under that panel with a deel 3/8 12mm. >Let someone hold it once again when ur taking and loosing the bolts >Then slap the rear babies and jack up the old suspension and bolt the top 2 strut bolts, then that one bottom bolt. >Torque the top 2 bolts to 13 ft lbs. then the bottom bolt to the Nissan recommendation to 87-108 ft lbs (118-147Nm) Others>> Make sure u dont over tighten the top strut bolts and when ur also installing the strut bars, its best to install it while u are bolting the top strut bolts. I hope this was helpful for people. Here are some pics..... i have to raise the front by 3/4 of an inch cuz i scratch all the time getting out of my driveway. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
