SR SR crank timing -short cut?-

Okay, I did a full head job on my S13 SR blacktop. I got it back together and lined up the cam timing marks on the timing chain only to find that the chain must have jumped few teeth on the crank sprocket . I didn't want to take off the lower and upper oil pans and front cover to check the timing mark on the crank. Is there an easy way to get the timing correct at the crank than to tear off the oil pans? Thanks guys
