Alright so my car is parked at work and some old bastard desides to back into it. At first i was pissed then i was thinking about it, and i thought hmm he broke the tails out, maybe i could get a new pair or kouki tails out of this. I got all of his insurance information and everything, but i was wondering... how would i go about to get a new pair of kouki tailights out of this. Should i take it to Nissan and get them to give me a quote for everything then take that to the insurance company and have them write me a check or what? If any of ou have gone through something similar let me know, thanks.

simple. you take your car to an auto body shop and get a quote on the damage. fax that paperwork to the insurance company. they send you a fat check.

yea. im pretty sure brand new oem zenki/chuki tails cost about the same from dealership. if you're going to buy brand new taillights from dealership and are paying the same price why not get kouki tails. im not sure if insurance company will accept the quote from nissan so you probably have to bring it to a licensed bodyshop and ask the body shop to get a quote for them installed with kouki tails. (give dealership kouki tail part numbers too)

that last part wont work because the insurance company only pays to make the car look like it did before the wreck. so just get a quote for the car to be fixed back to stock condition with all brand new parts, then show that to the insurance company and they give you a check. then its up to you what you want to buy with it.

The bodyshop's estimate will include labor aswell. That should give you more than what you need for Kouki tails.

Yeah, just bring it to a body shop. Get a quote at that shop or call the insurance company and ask them where you can bring your car to to get a quote. Then just get the quote and wait for your check to come in.

and then after i got 2600 for the fender..some how..lol..and got this

I got a s13 front end..lol..the long champs i later bought....when you talk to the insurance..tell them its your only car..to communte in and they will give you a check for rental car.

Yeah buddy got rear ended in a corolla, 1500$ worth of damage, they said they could only give him 800$. Any more and they'd have taken the car and said it was a total loss because blue book on a 1985 Corolla GTS is 800$ o_0. Pretty lame. 4000$ car is not worth 800$ to insurance.

yeah the only problem with this is, our cars arent worth shit in the KBB, so if ur s13 gets hit like that, and there has to be paint done to it, they will most likely total the car, snce the repair would be worth more than the car in their opinion. LOL, i looked into this too

Where my car got hit it only busted out the left blinker and brake light, will the body shop give me a quote for all 3 tail light pieces brand new or would they be gay and just get the left section? They already said that i cant get a quote from nissan.

my friends mom rear ended my car while it was parked on the street. Had Kouki tails, and the rear left corner smashed in. Misaligned my bumper, and it took literally months to get my car back. All in all, whole rear end is brand new paint, new set of kouki tails, and stock wing was dettached with fresh paint on the trunk. But, I no longer speak to this friend, lol.

But yea, what i did with my taillight situation was go to that one courtesynissan store where they individually sell the lights seperately. I pieced together what i needed, gave that to insurance, and they bought it and had them installed. Really simple. Good Luck

hmm i spent about 7k on my 240sx. sr20 with some mods like fmic exhaust and shit then accident. my whole front messed up and my intercooler shattered and gotten pieces sucked into engine and killed it. i only got 2500 back. and i couldnt tell them it was modded

damn sorry to hear...i spent about 15k on my car. then one night....neighbors cousin were drunk, and their truck backed up into my front end. : ( that accident ruined my night, my bro called me while i was at the club saying someone messed it up. i was so pissed. but thanks to that guy, i'm going to have the new origin lab "cow" hood, then from "stylish" to the "stream kit." i'll post up pics when it's finished. my broke ass still need better rims.
