Windshield Wipers not working

I think my wipers are not hooked up to the motors or they aren't wiping when i turn them on all seetings i hear this annoying thing like the arm is trying to move but it isn't could the motor be burnt out. I think its just been knocked out of place cause i washed the car and had my wipers up and then my dad put of my hood and i heard a banging noise.

Broken wiper linkage or stripped gear on the arm.

I had this problem a while ago, I just jumped into my steering column and jiggled my wireharness around, fixed the wipers, but then my climate control died.

YOU CAN NEVER WIN.

Arms may have popped off the ball joints on the motor and/or center joint, too. You'll need to remove the lower cowl vent cover and take a look.
