Fast Flashing Blinker

This started happening about 2 days ago. My drivers side blinker flashes super fast while my passanger side flashes at normal speed. Possibly a loose ground? I changed the bulb and it didnt help.

I need to get this fixed so I dont look so ghetto when I obey the law.

ok. your sure that all the turn sig. bulbs on the driver side are working?

hmmm maybe a relay problem, that or possibly ground issue.

check all the bulbs... front, back, sides - usually when it starts blinking fast a bulb is out or a connection is loose/unplugged.

All the lights worked when I was parked. I didnt check my side marker lights. Figured those wouldnt have anythign to do with the blinkers. Guess ill be out in the rain tonight checking those as well. Hopefully one of thsoe is loose or something.

I think I had this happen when I had the wrong bulb in one of my blinkers before, I could be wrong. If they're working but flashing oddly that could be it I suppose.

k. im gonna go ahead and tell you then, its not gonna be anything simple like a wrong bulb, or messed up wiring. Ill go back to my first idea, flasher unit/relay. I think there are 2 seperate relays, one for flashers, one for turn sigs.

Its because you have the wrong resistance in the circuit. Either a bulb is out or a loose wire or the wrong bulb. Anything that would change the resistence of the circuit.

You may have a problem like mine did. I know mine was working normally when I first got it, and then randomly the right one would start to blink fast, and then it would go normal eventually, and then fast again.

My taillights at one point before I bought it had water in them, causing one of the bulb connections to rust. What I did was take off the connector, take some steel wool or something equivelant, and rub it down so the rust is gone. did the same to the bulb and that fixed the problem. Maybe you have rust in one of yours?

Thats it, its an oscillator circuit and the frequency will change if the resistance changes.

Could be a bad bulb, corroded connection, bad wire, or the flasher unit or anything along the line. I haven't had that problem yet, but I'll bet one of those is most common on 240's (see who else has had the same problem, maybe a search will turn some up) and I'd start there before replacing all of the bulbs and relays and flashers.
