i'm retarded...how do remove s14 antenna?

Just that...how do i remove the antenna from a 96 s14?

I have fresh paint and am trying not to destroy it in the process. I removed the side trunk panels and have access to the antenna, but dont see any nuts, bolts, or screws....wtf?

When retracted, I used needle nosed pliers and inserted them into the 2 notches/slits and proceeded to rotate.
(the slits around the hole wherein the antenna retracts)

Power antenna has two bolts that secure it, fixed mast has one, they're gold colored M6s with a lock washer under them, located right past the jack.
The top is secured with a screw in cap, use needle nose or snap ring pliers and twist it off.

First unscrew the mast. Then remove the bezel. The bezel unscrews. It has two holes in it and uses a special wrench. I used a needle nose pliers.

I just got mine out with needle noses. Now getting this aftermarket to clear the jack is a PITA.

It should unscrew?? I had a 95 SE and it had a power antenna and now I have a 96 SE and it doesnt have a power antenna. I heard in 96 they got rid of the power antenna. But I could be wrong. I unscrewed mine, the base is there but atleast there isnt a stupid bent antenna on the car like a RC car.

All 95 SEs came with the power antenna, and it was part of the 6speaker CD audio option on base models that year as well. 96-97s did not have it available at all. 98 LE models again had it standard.
96 model cars are not prewired at all for the antenna, 97-98s are prewired in the dash and subharness, but not the tail harness.

Just bought this one for my 91'

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2777913&rd=1,1

Grabbed the only one I saw on ebay.....

IMO the shorter S2K one will look cleaner than the 13" monster they have on there. Strange thing, my 91' base has a power antennae!! WTF?? They say it should just plug right in.....hopefully.
