Spring rates on Tein HE for daily drive?

currently the car has 8kg/mm front and 6 kg/mm rear. is that too hard for a daily driven cars?

and whats the lowest on a s14 can it go , i dont want it slammed but just want to know for safety precaution wise so i don't blow them.

I'm going to buy a car with them , how can i check if it is blown other than obvious signs of leaks etc?

thanks a lot everyone

In short - yes. We feel most ride quality is how fine tuned the dampening adjustment is. Tein HE's are decent (as long as they aren't too old/worn out and on their last legs).

Although daily driven harshness is very subjective from driver to driver, I think you'll be more than fine with the dampers turned towards full soft.

thanks for the reply

i dont know how long the coilovers has been on the car , other than oil leaks is there any other symptoms of busted coilover?

how low is too low for a kouki s14? if it is too low i would like to raised the car back to prevent shortening the life of the coilovers

how do i check if the master cylinder and calipers are from a 300zx too.

hope can educate this newbie out...... cause im wanting to buy a car below but do not know how to make sure everything is done properly or setup properly with no problems.

all advise appreciated

Other than 'leaking' - there aren't really any visible signs other than ride quality, or if you could actually take one off and put your hands on it.

Keep in mind though, even if the car is lowered very much, if they lowered it via the lower brackets, they did not shorten the shock stroke so longevity would be the same as stock ride height.

Sure thing - I will use the STANCE coilovers for reference on lower bracket adjustability.

If you look at the bottom bracket where it bolts to the actual spindle on the car, you note that because the entire shock body is threaded, this lower bracket can moved up or down so you can adjust the ride height of the vehicle and NOT change the height via the actual spring. This enables ride height changes that do no affect shock stroke.

any help?

how hard is it to change a tie rod and boot , is it a PITA job or is it expensive to be sent to a shop to do it?

and for a 120k mileage healthy KA24DE , should it be normal to take in a bit of oil?

If you asked a question that wasn't already covered in various archived posts, you would probably get quite a few answers. However, you can easily find your answers by searching (on here or other forums), so there aren't really too many responses to your posts. I'm not trying to flame ya, just point you in the right direction to possibly learn more than you would by just having someone feed you an answer. Cheers and good luck.
