Thread Stipped from Oil Feed
After installing my new turbo, I upgraded to taka steel braided lines. The Oil feed from the block would not stop leaking. So like a dumb ass I tried to just wrench it down as hard as I could, because the line was still leaking after I torque the bolt to what the FSM spec ft lbs of torque was 15..
I was getting it tight then, it spun, becoming loose... so I backed the bolt out and to my dismay I had 6 rows of thread wrapped in the thread of the banjo bolt.. Then I could not get the bolt to seat with the copper washers, but then I tried to put the bolt in with out the washers.. and now it seats, but it leeks.. What I came up with was this.. Have a machine shop make me a special "adapter" for this.. Ill give them the banjo bolt as a guide to make this: ![]() im thinking this will work.. what are your thoughts.. ![]() |

Ok, so this is what I want to plan to do.. Find an oil feed line that uses an AN fitting as the connection to the block rather than a banjo bolt.. tap the hole in the block to a larger size and use a male/male AN reducer to connect to the oil line..
But my problem is I cant find an oil feed line that uses AN fittings.. the only thing I can find are the banjo bolt lines.. Ive sent 3 email to Taka Motorsports already and they havnt said shit back.. Anyone know a place that has the line I need? |

It's worth a shot! I'd just take the hose and banjo bolt over there and explain the situation to them, I'm sure they'll have a solution... I suspect they'll advise you to drill out the remaining threads, weld in an AN bung then spend balla-dollaz on Earls fittings and braided stainless lines that they "happen" to sell.

I just had the same problem. I got a helicoil kit off egay for $40. The size is
M12X1.25. It worked perfect. You just drill out the hole with a drill bit. Clean it real good, tap. Then insert the helicoil and your good as gold. Took about 10 minutes. |
