Turbo spinning into oblivion...

Well I finally got my new turbine housing so I went about putting it on. I had also gotten a new compressor o-ring. I put the turbo together as usual, clocked it right, put the new stainless steel lines on it. Lastly I put the compressor side in, which, I think, is where I made my mistake. It put the o-ring over the center section (little plate thing with the groove for the o-ring) and then put the compressor side on (I didn't know I had to lube the o-ring) and tq'ed it down. It looked funny to me, the compressor housing was not sealing flush with the center section dish thingy. I thought, I think the o-ring just needs time to flatten and put it all back together and put it in the car. Now when the car starts making load, there is this super high pitched sound like the turbo spinning into oblivion, this is much louder than a traditional boost leak. When I let off, it sounds like a horse neighing, very loud, high pitched, compressor surge. Can someone point me in the right direction?

But wait, should I take the comp housing off, check the status of the o-ring, if its good, lube it up, and put it all back together see if it works?

You should also check and see if the compressor wheel made contact with the compressor housing while it was sitting crooked.....you very well might have trashed the compressor wheel and gouged up the compressor housing.

Well before I put the turbo on I check to see if there was any clearance issues there. The wheel spun freely with no contact at all on the housing, but I will check that tomorrow when I have to put the thing apart again ugh...
