well i am going to be replacing all of my brake rotors and pads on my 1996 240SX base model, so i was just wondering if anyone had any tips they could give me because ive never done brakes on my car before.  are there any lil tricks i should know about when replacing the parts?  how about torque specs on the lil bolts that hold the calipers together, any help would be much appreciated.  thanks

make sure you get a shim kit from nissan.  use anti-squeak on the back of the pads.  make sure you have an air gun (or somebody REALLY strong) otherwise the bolts wont come off.  hang the caliper with a wire when changing the rotor so as not to stretch the brake line.  open the brake fluid reservoir lid to relieve pressure.  use a c-clamp to compress the piston on the front caliper.  use a pair of needlenose pliers for the rears.

This is great advice - many of us failed to realize that the rear pistons screw back into the caliper, not merely compress! &nbsp;Otherwise, brakes on the 240 are among the easiest I've ever seen. &nbsp;Good luck <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
