I have a 1990 S13 SE with the Redtop SR in it with about 40k miles. I have JIC magic coilovers, Kouki tail lights and a bunch of other stuff. The thing is I always get pulled over and I've been lucky recently and haven't gotten any tickets. The car is sanded and primered (you can see it in my sig). Now what I am asking is, Should I trade my car for a 1995 S14 SE with 70k and just an exhaust? I was thinking about it because I mean I live in NH and the coilovers are a pain in the ass to get around some places and my car isn't even in than nice of shape. I mean no rust, but no paint looks shitty and I don't have the money to paint it. Just wondering what you guys thought, S14's are real hard to come by around here. Here are some pics! LMK

wtf? no.

if you don't like your coilovers sell them and buy something softer.

as for paint, save up like $300 and take it to maaco for their cheapo sunday special.

Thing is, I just don't like the car... i mean i had fun doing all the work to it, but its just a pain. Cops constantly bug me about it and I'm going off to college next year I'm going to need something I can just drive. If I could keep it and get the S14 I would..

Why don't you like it? Do you just don't like it because cops are pulling you over?

A clean paint job will definitely help with that situation. They are probably pulling you over because you're driving around primered and you stick out. Save up and you're good to go.

man you should just keep it, cops used to pull me over when I only had an exhaust, paint it and get some different coils. I live in boston and got my current s14 for $2500 if you keep looking you could probably get an s14 for pretty cheap

I think it might also be the want to start a new project with something different..I've had the S13 up for sale for a while now, a lot of offers but no one seemed to follow through with it. I've had a lot of offers to trade for civics and there is no way in hell I would drive one. When this S14 popped up, I figured it would be a good idea. I mean already know enough about 240's to do another swap if i wanted to, or I could try out the ka-t route. Possibilities are endless. I think I'm just getting sick of the car I have now...

But yeah Flipzide - I really think it would help out the situation as well, they haven't said anything to me about having no paint, but I'm sure they are thinking, 'Let's pull over the kid with no paint and slam him with a ticket so he still can't get paint!'

I don't see the point of this thread being as how you already have your mind set on the s14.

Just remember, cops pull over cars other than s13's. Don't think that you'll be immune.

Yes, I understand that. But looking at the two cars how they sit now, the S13 is more likely to be pulled over. I'm sure the s14 will have mods done, but at least I will have a painted car and it wont look so..rigged

if your car was cleanly painted, you wouldnt get so much attention from the Police.

I know this from experance,

a Buddy had a s13 all crazy colored primered etc.

then went to a clean white,

SR no cops,

no problems....

where were you when i had my S14?? You have a SR'd S13 sitting on some JIC's...Man if you trade for that, the S14 owner would be in heaven...But 100$ can give you a roll on paint job...if you think im kidding an your car will turn out like crap then judge me wrong..

Well here's my thing...if you trade your 13 for a S14 w/ exhaust...what kind of exhaust? A loud 3' exhaust on a KA would be your next down fall since thatll attract cops to that car. I bet if your car is quiet, even primered, they wouldnt really fuck with you as much. Exhaust is always the first thing that attracts cops.

Thanks for the input guys and the random talk too, haha. The car was put up for 6000 and now it is down to 5000..Let me get the list of parts that I used on craigslist. My bad ahead of time for sounding like an idiot in the description, but I had to get it to sell.

"This car is a 1990 Nissan 240sx se with a late model SR20DET Redtop motor and a 1991 front end conversion. The motor comes with around 38,000 miles on it and the body only has 99,000. This car has nearly NO RUST. The motor has been moded and comes with a HUGE GodSpeed Front mount intercooler, Megan Racing Downpipe, Full Megan Racing Exhaust, (3 inch all the way through to a 3.75 inch tip), Walbro 255lph fuel pump, JIC magic coilovers, 180sx Kouki Tail lights (show in the picutre below) straight from Nissan Japan for 475$. The car also has 4 autometer gauges, 3 in the air vents and 1 carbon fiber boost gauge. It has Corbeau Racing seats with harnesses and Greddy shift knob. The car has a full interior except for backseats."

Yeah, it is a fun car to drive! I think I am also getting cash with the S14..so that makes it better! Not sure how much though..

Not_nissan - I've heard of doing that before and I kind of doubted it actually working, but that guy in the link really made that come out nice! But depending on how much cash I get I think I am pretty much set on this S14

Flipraysin240sx- Well my S13 is really, really, really loud haha I don't drive it a lot because of how loud it is.. S14 exhaust is custom 2.5" all the way through to a 3.5" tip

Koopa_troopa - I thought about the whole spray paint idea, but then that just kind of fell through and I decided against it.. anymore pictures of how yours came out?

i like S14's and all (all i've owned 240 wise)...but your about to trade this Nice S13 for a S14 with just exhaust? Is it mint? Miles? And i put that link to show you that a 100$ paint job really does exist with good intentions also...So i'd spare the 100 and paint it...then sell it...then buy a stock s14 for about 3k...and you could have 2-3k to spend on it..
