Ok, so I have n1 dual exhuast and injen intake (as well as magnecore wires and denso plugs if that matters).  I'm hoping to swap in an SR sometime in the future.

Does the JWT ECU work for the sr?  Also do they program the ECU specifically for the mods I have, and what happens if I get new mods...do I have to send it in and get it reprogrammed?  Just wondering.  Thanks.

Chance

the KA ECU won't work for the SR engine. and i've heard basic bolt ons like intake and exhaust, the stock ECU will eventually detect them and make the adjustments. you'd need a new ECU when you change injectors, add a turbo, cam, and maybe nitrous.

from what i've read on freshalloy, yes the jwt ecu can be progammed to work with the sr. the ecu is used to raise the rev limiter, get rid of governor, and maximize the boltons. i do remember seeing a dyno of with stock ecu and with jwt ecu with same boltons and it was a definate improvment. (i don't remember how much but i am sure someone here does).

ok, i am having a slow day at work so i called jwt. i was told that you can use the ka ecu for the sr, but you have to convert the ignition to make it work. jwt sells the kit to do this and it's a total of 700 plus the reprogram.

isn't the ECU itself only 500?  why would they charge more just to convert then the actual ecu costs?
