California Engine Swap legal Q's
As far as I know with legal engine swaps in California they have to include the following, please correct me if I am wrong:
-Swap must include all emissions equipment -Swapped engine cannot be older than the chassis -Swapped engine must be produced for sale in the US -Swapped engine must be of the same make of the vehicle I've been toying around with the idea of swapping a 1989 Nissan 300ZX VG30ET Engine into a 1989 Nissan 240sx chassis. With as much as I know about California being gay with car modification, will this mix and match setup be able to pass and be approved by the CARB Ref? |

I believe everything you posted is correct except:

Oh, and the engine must be from the same class of vehicle, meaning no truck engines (even pickup trucks) can be swapped into a passenger car. |
