1990 240sx - stutters from a stop
I have a 1990 240sx with a header and a catback and it really stutters from a stop. I try to leave as smoothly as possible and the whole car shakes. I having been driving 5 speed cars forever so this is not a driving problem. After leaving from a stop the car drives completely normally and shifts very well. The hotter the car is the worse the stutter is. Is this a clutch problem or something else?

my sohc did the same thing. probably time to replace the clutch. either the flywheel has some hot spots or the pressure plate is weak or combination. replace the clutch and have the flywheel turned that should solve your problem. i fixed mine with a sr swap.

if you have an aggressive clutch [i.e. 6 puck, 4 puck, 3 puck..etc]
it will engage harder and faster sometimes making it stutter. smoother clutch engagement helps. stutters more if your clutch is unsprung.
