I just got done installing my dual n1s and i was just wondering what that strap thing that connects from the heat shield to the exhaust. From what i hear that its a ground is this true? I used aluminum tape to ground it to the heat shield just in case it was a ground. Is that a good place to put it? Any help will be great. Thanks

Yup I'd say it's definitely a grond wire. I just put the N1 dual on my S14 and dealt with the same thing.

Aluminum tape?

Probably not the best idea!

I'm not sure, but I'm assuming that the braided ground wire goes to the bolts right at the beginning of the cat-back.

Possibly to supply ground to the rear heated O2 sensor, but that is just a wild guess...I don't even know if it is a one wire hook up or not.

Anyways get rid of that freaken tape and bolt that wire right into the exhaust!
