How low is your car. Sometimes your tire eats through the wiring harness on the drivers side fender well causing your wipers to not work and/or other electrical issues.

97 S14s come in 2 models:

non-SE's do not have intermittent wipers.
SE's have intermittent wipers.

Read the FSM. It's easy to wire.

You'll need to include the wiper amplifier, the circuit does not go straight from switch to motor.

And to correct the post above, all 97-98 have intermittent wipers. The base model are fixed in one position, SE models are variable, with several settings. Both models are prewired though and only require the addition of the SE switch to add the variable control. 95-96 owners are not so lucky, the base model is not prewired and the amplifier is different between base and SE.

Does anyone have a photo or a verbal description of where the wiper amplifier is on a 95 base model? I am having the same problem...and it is snowing here. Would it just be extending the wires from the amplifier output to the wiper motor plug?

The FSM should help - www.phatg20.net has them.

Already checked FSM, but did not find the location of the amp... If I understood the FSM correctly, it would just be extending wires from the amp outlet to the wiper motor plug inlet.

This is correct. Base models have fixed intermittent wipers at 7 second intervals. SE models have variable intermittent wipers adjustable between 3-13 seconds.

As a note, the FSM specs "with intermittent wiper models". I'm not sure if they're implying that some S14s do not have intermittent wipers at all, but so far I haven't seen any. Maybe in Japan or elsewhere.

Same place it's located on every S14, right behind the ASCD actuator, beside the wiper motor.

What? You have to actually explain what you're asking, we can't read your mind.

my question is if it is possible to use the interval settings for the wipers on the 95 base by just extending the wires to make it work or do you need to get a new amp and wire it up to get the option..i said i have the wiper switch off an altima that has the option for what i want but i can not use it because it is not wired..so again can i just wire it up to make it work or do i need to get the new amp then wire it..

im pretty sure that explains it better..

You'll need to run one wire and use the SE amplifier. Read the FSM to see the difference.
