dealing with fresh paint

ok so i just got my car back 2 weeks ago from paint and the shop said that after 2 weeks any debree will have lifted to the surface.

well now the paint is pitting everywhere and i need to know what to do now?

If it's pitting like orange peel, like light stuff, it can probably be wet sanded some more and possibly cleared again (but then you have to wait again). Most likely it'll just be some rubbing compound and polishing up. Ask the person that painted it lol.

they were supposed to clean the car before spraying and also color sand ot after paint get that shit done right

Yeah I would just consult with the shop that did the paint work.
If its orange peel like mentioned above, it needs a cut and color buff.

debree??? what debree in the clear? i think he meant your gonna see orange peel after it cures. Usually take 2 weeks unless u got a baker like me to use he heh. U can can get some 1600-2000 grit and wet sand it depending on how many coats of clear he put on and how much orange peel u have level out. If ur not comfortable doing it since its kinda hard for someone who has no experience. Id ask the guy who painted the car to do it for u. Now... did he give u an estimate before> and did he include colorsand and buff? most shop will do it but not for free. He doesn't have to do it unless he qoutes u it in a estimate or ask you if u want it. That shit takes a long time and alot of patience. It takes me about 5 hrs to do mine but i go a little over board on the detail plus i use aot of clear so i can wet sand more.

dont talk in here if you havent actually painted a car before (*and no not rattle can horseass paintjob) its not orange peel, orange peel happens when you spray clear with too high of pressure, too far away from the panel with the gun or simply not putting enough material on. and, it happens immediately after spraying


what you have is called solvent pop, the solvents in your primer, basecoat etc.. have finally cured after a few days/weeks (depending on if the booth had a bake cycle) and rise to the surface of the clear





it can be easily sanded and buffed, hopefully they didnt pull it straight out of the booth and sand and buff it after sitting for one day, if so, you probably dont have enough clear left on there to do it again

And listen to koukimonster... hope there is enough clear to sand some more, and i'd use 2000 grit nothing harsher, IMO grit + time > harsh + haste

i would have been sketched when they said that, first off if they use a proper up draft booth there shouldnt be anything coming through, also if its pitting that is not what they were talking about anyways take it in and i hope it was maaco
