gt2871r wastegate

any user of the gt2871r know what boost level the stock wastegate is at? The serial number is 743347-2. Also, would the stock internal wastegate off a t25 fit the gt2871r? The boost on mine is high. I have gone to 17psi and it still won't stop. Don't want to take it any higher.

Doesn't sound right. Check the signal line to the wastegate. felt fast as shit though, right!

Its a 1 bar 14 psi wastegate actuator on the 2871r. Check your preload on the actuator. Also is it creeping up to 17psi or is it shooting straight to 17psi?

something similar happened to me when i picked up my s14 w/redtop sr and t28. it turns out my wastegate actuator was broken and i was spiking 17-20psi. i replaced it with another t28 wg actuator and it's boosting 5psi now

If the can has been crushed at all, it won't function properly. Also check with the flapper disconnected to make sure it opens without sticking to the outlet.

First and foremost, stop testing the damn actuator by driving the fucking car. Last thing you wanna do is make a $100 HKS actuator problem turn into a need another engine problem. Yes, its an HKS actuator problem because thats what you should get.

Borrow one of these from autozone:

http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm

Check to see when the actuator starts opening (if at all).

wait, to the poster who said it is set to 14psi (~1bar) why does my boost controller (avc-r) show me that sometimes I only boost to .5 bar when it was accidentally set that low, and I still got her up in boosting range pretty well, so it was not like it just hadn't reached full boost.
