running new wires from head unit

im going to try and run new wires to each speaker. is there anything special i need to know, like where exactly the wires run, and are they hard to rewire them? should i take out my head unit if i do decide to rewire each speaker? im doing this because ive lost sound quality after i removed factory amps...so im trying to get it back/improve upon it.

im doing this for a s13 le model, anyone ever done this? if so plz give me some insight so i dont kill myself lol

I've only done the front speakers but it's really not a big deal. You will probably have to pull out the head unit so you can access the wires. I have been in the habit of using splices (mostly crimp on butt splices)and I don't have much of a problem with them. People talk about soldering, but it can corrode in cars and it's a pain. The wires just go under the dash out to the doors, shouldn't be a big deal. I'm sure the wires for the rear jsut run along one side or the other, follow from the back.

I drilled and grometed the doors for larger gauge wires and ran along the bottom edge of the floor; bundled w/ the other wires there to the hatch (where my amps are)

You had the post about JL right? If you've invested in good speakers you'll probably evenetually get an amp to drive them so keep this in mind when wiring, even if you're just going to the HU.

Depending on the gauge you use, I prefer the round dis-connects because they are a bit less bulky.

Regarding the other post: I assumed that you were amplifying, if not you may want to leave the old wires in until you get an amp.
If u don't plan on amplifying then it may be beneficial to rewire the HU but it won't be monumental.
