Recycling

Is it possible to recycle a bare chassis? if so how much does it fetch? not expecting much just a few bucks to get rid of something taking up space.

call up the junk yard

some will come tow it and give you so much for it

usually will take the tow fee out

you could always take it there and get money

people do it all the time

Haggle with them, the price of scrap has gone up lately and they make like $300+ off the chassis. Just haggle, they'll work with you.

is there such a thing as a place that buys scrap metal, like if you were to get your sawzall and go crazy, bring in the pieces and sell it to them? probably easier just to call a yard to come tow the shell, haha

lets just say it's wearing it's birthday suit, BONE BARE.

Will they tow a car without a suspension? a flat bed and some muscles?

I had a coupe towed out with only front wheels. They flatbed'd it and gave me $50

I sawzalled a hatch apart into like 6 pieces and threw it in my old neighbors truck, let him have the dough for takin it off my hands. I think he got like a hundred bucks or so. Just go to any major recycling plant. Mine didn't even need a title. Should have sold that shit with the vin plates but I try not to do that illegal shyte, much.

scrap metal prices are pretty high right now. You'll probably need to remove tires and gas tank

donate it and get a tax break. i just saw an ad banner just below this thread, ironically, for kars-4-kids. their banner said "donate your car, get a free vacation".

here's the link in case the banner changed already:

http://www.kars4kids.org/indexgp.htm...FR4vagodWQwrTA

hey, if it's for a good cause AND it gets this car off your hands then it's a win-win situation.

LMAO, I dont know what kars4kids is going to do with a bone bare shell. You only get what the car is worth as a tax break anyways, and a bare shell probably isnt worth anything at all on the auto sales market. Its only valuable as scrap.

Lest just say its more than safe to assume that they won't want a shell.

As far as donating, you could donate somewhere close like a fire company, maybe. I would rather never see it again though, before I saw it on fire.

I donated my old Bronco to my Vo-Tech and wrote it off for a screaming heap. It was complete, but a shell they could still do a lot of work to(auto body). They're probably not very picky. I guess it would likely need something to roll on though. That way you could still write it off for a few hundred, and be letting kids learn on and dream about one day owning a 240, lol.

Damn. I just practically gave away my wrecked hatch chassis, well I got $25 for it from some dudes that didn't know how to speak english. It was bare shell, I mean nothing on it. No windows, door, hatch, sound deadining, lines, trim, only metal. I wonder where they took it to since I didn't give them my title.. Oh well, they probably got alot more money than I did. Too much of a hassle to tow the damn thing anyway.

doesnt really work anymore. for the most part, you only get to write off what the car sells for at the auction/goodwill store. if they sell it for $100, you only get to write off $100
