I am leaking coolant out of the front of the engine and wondering if I should just pull the water pump off and redo the seal or replace the whole water pump(KA24DE). Should I replace anything else while im at it?

if you're doing that you might as well do thermostat and gaskets, you could get all that for 20 bucks probably.  you might as well replace all heater and radiator hoses while you're at it as well, so you can get that whole headache out of the way.  they are a bitch to get off if you're car is 10+ years old, so you might as well just do it all in one day.

is the coolant coming from the front cover or the water pump?

if its the front cover while you have that off you should do your t chain if your up on miles.

if its the water pump then replace it if your engine has alot of miles its not worth doing the job twice unless you like turning wrenches ever few months for the same problem.

Water pump is cakewalk to reseal. &nbsp;I spent more time getting the belt off than pulling the pump <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> I just resealled mine, there wasn't any play in the shaft, still spun smoothly. Saw no reason to replace it.

there is a seep hole at the bottom of the water pump that goes out and that is usually what goes wrong with the pump. &nbsp; When you have the water pump out look at the bottom of it and there is a hole in the housing and if that hole has calcium deposits around it then most likely the pump is bad and you need to get a new one. If you want to save yourself the 20-30 for a cheap a waterpump then take the water pump out and put a new seal on it(use the clear rtv) and put it back fill it up and see if you can see water leak out. If you do this make sure that the area you apply any silicone to is very dry.

Hey, if your leaking from your water pump, you can check by looking underneath the water pump for a hole, if you see that hole is leaking with coolant, time for a new water pump. But if your going to replace water pump i totaly agree with what red24one and camppain said, and replace the thermostat and gaskests.
