A Denver TV station is reporting authorities may have foiled an assassination plot against Barack Obama, and there's talk the suspects may be members of a white supremacy group.

KUSA-TV claims three men are in custody after a routine traffic stop in Aurora (near Denver) turned up two rifles, high-powered scopes, ammo and meth. The man in the car led authorities to a hotel where another suspect jumped out of a fourth floor window in an attempt to escape.

A third guy was busted at another hotel but the info on him is sketchy.

The arrests went down yesterday. The TV station says sources said "Two of the men had tattoos and jewelry popular with white supremacists."

The mugshot inset in the photo is of one of the suspects, Tharin Gartrell.

Remember it's still all unsure. They don't KNOW (although it look suspiciously like it) they were planning to try an assassination.

I'm sure there's been suspicions of plots and foiled attempts on Bush's life, and maybe even McCains already.

But they're not media loved poster boys.

That's not more info on the story you posted. It's indirectly related, but it's not "more" info on the story at hand.

Again, read the article, it all says "speculation" and even the authorities have said it's still by no means a credible scenario that they were attempting, or if so, even capable of carrying out, an assassination.

I think because of WHO it is, I just have this feeling that the media is going to try and milk this for all it's worth.

Anybody that knows what they are doing wouldn't try it at an event like that. Thats asking to take a round to face.
