If your 240s like my truck, you have to pull up the vinyl or carpet or whatever to get to 6 or so bolts that hold down a metal piece that sandwiches the rubber of the shift boot.
The shift knob screws off in the normal rotation. May be extremely hard to get off due to years of sun and shrinkage. I had to cut mine off to put on another one. |

When I put my ss in I was able to get my shiftknob off by turning it (counterclockwise ofcourse) really frickin hard. Bad thing is it striped the threads and now it moves when I shift. You might need to get a new shift knob after you take your stock one off...not that, that is really a bad thing <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
