checking Fuel Pressure

Well, the problems I have been having lateley leave me and my mechanic to believe that my problem could be fuel related. He asked me to do a fuel pressure test to check it out.

So, I just wanna make sure im doing it right.

-Unplug Fuel Pump Relay
-Open gas cap
-T clamp with press gauge
-Install fuse back in and shut gas cap
-Ignition "on" and read the gauge?

I think it's right, just wanna make sure everything looks good before I possibly fuck something up.
