s13 Wiring Question

There's a broken connector coming from the wire harness going into my intake manifold (sohc) and it's not making any contact at all. Then my car ceased to start. I replaced the connector but i did a rookie at job at it. Before I go soldering stuff in, here's my question:

Would that bum wire/connector going into the right side of the intake manifold prevent my car from starting??

It's an '89 by the way.
Thanks.

Alright, I'll get some pics but tomorrow, its a bit too dark outside.
It's a little brown connector. I don't know the sizes, but I'd say medium, cause there are really small connectors and really big connectors. This one is in between. It's got two wires coming out of it. One black, one black W/brown stripe. I shall have pics for clarity.

Is it straight into the manifold? cause you can also check if the MAF is connected correctly

i heard if that one is plugged in correctly it wont start.
