Busted Subframe bushings = bad shocks?

Im about to throw on some new shocks/springs, however recently when I dropped the subframe a few inches to install collars, I also ripped out most of the rubber in the bushings due to trying to get the inner metal casing to unseize on the stud. I reinstalled everything and about a week later all 4 shocks blew out.

Was the bad subframe bushings a cause for damage due to excessive play? I have the solids, however im waiting for 3 days off to drop those in, but would like to do the shocks asap
