Plastic Intercooler tube keeps popping out

I have the S14 with the SR20 motor. It seems that when I get on the gas the intercooler pipe likes to pop out... It seems that the hose clamp can only get so tight around plastic tubing.

Is there a good remedy for this????

Thanks, Debo

ps, search was no help

Aluminum piping with a nice bead near the end so the clamp can't work it's way off.

That and make sure you dont use the cheap rubber couplers from home depot or lowes because when it heats, it slides off a lot easier. Get some silicone couplers. Thats what one of my cousin used on his turbo civic and i laughed everytime he goes wot because it would pop everytime and he wouldnt believe me.

More important to have the bead on the end of the pipes tho for the clamps to stay secure.

sounds like the clamp is too large, try downsizing to one that fits better. Also clean the surface area where the coupler touches the piping, it may be oil/dirty/grimy or watever. Also a trick is to spray hairspray on it and then attach the coupler (old school trick) - helps the coupler stick to the piping better.

i know stock piping has a little "bump" at the end of piping to help lock the hoses as well.
