please help diagnose engine problems
I got the injector installed...finally heard it pop in and I rejoiced. There are much worse problems, though...
1) I pulled the spark plugs out, and they were totally black. Black with powdery-looking carbon; I don't think it was oil cause it should have been glossy. Then I tested the compression of each cylindar; they were all 180psi which I thought sounded right. 2) White smoke or steam billows out of my exhaust....the more throttle the more steam/gas. It smells strongly of fuel, but if its running rich it should be black from what I know. 3) Seems to be a slight loss of oil (which could explain the white gas). I can't verify this for sure, but I think I have lost some oil within the past week. other things to note: I cannot smell coolant, nor have I lost any; the radiator is full and so is the overflow tank. This all started after an injector went bad, then was replaced with a torn o-ring (by accident) and ran very rich for a day, then on my way to work I suddenly noticed lots of white gas following me. The car runs for almost 2 minutes (maybe more) after pulling the fuel pump fuse...I am not sure if that is normal or not. The car doesn't seem to overheat, but I haven't had it running for more than 5 minutes since the initial sight of the white gas. Thanks in advance!
