I could here a small rateling from under my hood (1990 240) and found it ti be coming from my heat shield covering my headers. My question is how necessary is the shield. My reason for this question is because I found that two of the bolts had been broken off and to fix them they would have to be drilled. thanks mike

you dont need heat shield, it dont do ****. take it off, wrap the headers in heatwrap, will be much better

bang that biotch right off, don't be lying right under it though, it has asbestos packing in there, I got a powder cloud to the face when i took mine off....sucked.
