car dies? idles at under 1000rpm?

above the other probs today i started the car and it started off at 500rpm..then it died later as i was going to bring it to the shop i acually knew it was gonna die since the rpm started dropping. Anything i should know that could cause it? can the cat converter cause it? since that was replaced? thanks.

acually this happened after we got a tuneup and the mechanic changed the cat converter..among other basic stuff. The car didnt start when we went to pick it up, they said they would try to fix it, but the tried it in the morning nand it worked(without changing anything) so far could it be overheating? wahts a IIAV?

i dont know KA24E, just DE
but the IIAV is at back of intake manifold
it gets really dirty you have remove it and clean it (carb cleaner works great)

um...might saerch mode on IIAV and find out how to do it for 89/90 engines.

also clean/get nwe air filter, my car was idle like crap till i slapped it on the pavement yesterday adn now it runs great .hahaha..too many dusty tracks at events! that and tire dust..bleh
