That's a 2JZ - see the "3000" on the plug valley cover? the 1JZ would have "cooling fins" there and say "2500" on the valve cover.

Man... in Thailand they'll put a JZ motor into anything. I've seen pics of them in Volvos and BMWs... chokudoriS13 has a bunch... sick!

Hell yeah! The Cressida rocks! I've been trying to convince my god-brother to do the 1 or 2jz swap into his cressida for years! He's sloooowly starting to consider it, so who knows. I doubt it though...

The MK3 (i think) and the MK4 Supra.

It can drop in the 84 celica with some modification. Matter of fact, i thought about doing this exact swap into my uncle's 84 celica/supra, but i'm poor, so all i can do is dream. Anything is possible if you've got the money.

hehe, i'm always trying to get my relatives to do engine swaps into their cars! They never want to talk about cars when i'm in the room. They all think i'm insane!

Hmmm

Dart Izumi Jr's S14 w/1JZ is pretty damn nice. The best car the IJZ ever came in was the Chaser! lol. I love that damn car. I had a JZX90 back in the day and I'd love to have a Tourer V.

How hard is that to mod into the 240sx? Like trying to drop a V8 in?

Yeah its RWD, if it did come out of the mk3 supra then i guess it would, cause a lot of parts on the supra can be swaped over to the celica, from what i have heard. It has the 22re which is also in the toyota pickup

ok i know im gonna get so flamed for what im about to say, so [/flamesuit on] how come it seems like everyone appreciates inter-car brand engine swaps, but when it comes to honda, its immediately called "rice" or plain blasphemy? (e.g., sr20 in a civic/integ). i dont see a difference. [/flamesuit off] discuss.... please be gentle

Search for the thread with the sr in the civic, and you'll see my response.

But the jist of it was, it doesnt bother me if you interbreed, and I doubt most of the people that flamed that civic (for its engine) even respond to a thread like this, so you can't point this at everyone, we all have different opinions. And to me (and prolly many more), if its for more power it is alright with me.

Hmmm...

The JDM JZA70s had 1JZs.... Of course Toyota had to stuff a damn soarer motor into the US JZA70.

i love seeing stufff like that!!
engines im 100% FOR IT
body work, im against it.
double standard? i dont think so
changing your engine some for something that might have more power or better weight distribution etc, GO FOR IT

putting r34 taillights on a 240sx/civic. HELL NO

The 7M-GTE was available in Japan, also. It was cheaper than the 1JZ-GTE, less power, more torque. I forget what the name of the trim level was (they didn't have just "base" and "turbo")

It's called an MA70 with the 7M-G BTW... or a GA70 with the 1G-GTE.

I'm assuming thats in Thailand.

Anyways, if anyone ever want this swap let me know. I know the engine wiring for both cars (supra/aristo, s13/14/15).

The Soarer (older models) came with the 7MGTE. I've worked on a few and a few JZA70's with the IJZ and there is no comparison. The IJZ is a far superior motor.

The JZA70 came in three trim levels. 3.0 n/a, 2.5t and 3.0t. But don't quote me on that.

Were you saying that the JZA70 had a trim level in Japan that came with the 7M? JZA70s were few and far between in the Iwakuni/Hiro area so I didn't have much opportunity to fiddle with them. The only ones I messed with ran IJZ's....

I feel like I'm on Supraforums... lol
