Weight reduction????
Ok so far I have taken the whole interrior out to paint it black, ut im trying to decide what to leave out. Ok first i plan to keep the carpet out and use bed liner in a thin coat for a black effect. Then all seat belts were removed, mine are electric so here heavy as hell. Ill be using a harness anyways.next all the rear truck and seat stuff is going to be gone. any other ideas?

Even a thin layer of truck bed liner is going to be as heavy or heavier than the carpet that was in there. Only, now your car will be ugly and loud on the inside.
The rest of the stuff (and it was posted a couple weeks ago, try a search) only weighs a very little bit. I say just take the spare tire out and call it a day. Just FYI incase you care, harnesses aren't safe in a rollover incase you have a roll bar because your body may not be able to move and your head will be crushed. But the chance of a rollover is pretty minimal on the street, so its up to you, just understand the risk. I've heard people mention breakaway harnesses or soemthing but I'd never feel safe useing anything like that. good luck with whatever you decide to do... |

I posted a primer on how to deal with electric belts that fail. I might be of use.
Do you have any pics of the way the motor connects and all? I am curious, I have not seen the motor for them. Rear spiler is heavy, get rid of it (s-13) and try to attain a 50/50 balance. Go top a garbage dump and weigh your car. I am running damn close to 50 /50. 1484 front. 1458 rear with me in the car and 1/2 tank of fuel. |

i dont htink you'll find manual seatbelts for s13 unless you live in canada or japan. you can, however, use s14 manual seatbelts. i forgot whats involved, but i think you need the belts and you might need to cut your interior panels unless you source the canadian ones. search for more info.
