So I bought a 93 honda..
With a 30k motor package imported from Japan. 2500$ not bat.
It was meant to be a little daily driver for my father to get to and from work each day.
why did I choose this honda? An extremely close friends older brother who is the lead tech over at aamco not only installed the motor but showed me receipts for it, the company it was ordered from, installed a new brake system, serviced the motor, etc. So basically the whole kit and kaboodle. It ran great!............ for about 4 weeks (being driven minimally because my dad was hospitalized)
so it breaks down the first day he takes it to work! Starts rattling like crazy and he shut it off and called the tow truck.
I call my personal mechanic and he comes over to check it out no charge, yanks the valve cover and a valve is sticking, yanks the spark plugs, cylinder 1 - fuel soaked no compression, cylinder 2 - water residue and oil, 3 and 4 were fine. No idea what other damage there is to the bottom end till its pulled apart
now he is saying he has no time to even help out with anything and told me to be smarter next time I buy a used car, what a dick!
yes I guess it was an idiotic move to make the purchase but I 100% trusted him, why would you rip off a friend of the family?
Just wondering what you guys would do in my situation other than bite a belt and take the loss. Any recommendations?
