a cheap 240sx is the 88 and will be easy to work. You can also search using the search button because the search here works.

I don't know if you are joking or just sarcastic in the way that people can't tell you are sarcastic but there isn't an 88 240sx.

As for the original question, please read this forum a little more before you ask dubmbass questions like this. I'll give you a little suggestion, check out www.autotrader.com and find out what you can afford.

i was just playing, i know there is no 88, but if he searches he will find somewhere else where people post stupid questions like this. There is really no best year. if you want cheap im guessing get an old one. it depends what you want

i just wanted to see if he thought there was an 88 and would look for it

aaaahahahahaha, 88.... thats classic... but he might have been asking which is the best as in, which would be most benificial. bc i know they came with slightly different cam specs and then youve got the coupe/fastback issue as well as OBD systems for operating simplicity.

Well if you're already planning on putting an S15 front end on, it would behoove you to buy a 240SX with a wrecked (not demolished) 240SX. That would probably be your best buy.

yea..this question is very general...how much money are u working with? what plans do you have for the car? show? power? both? if you can't afford much, i'd suggest a s13...the s15 on the s13 is okay looking, i would prefer the s13 silvia front end..but if u want a clean looking s15 conversion that actually looks pretty good/decent, i'd suggest a s14 95, 96, 97, 98. However, it might just be my preference with the s15 on s13..i've seen a few clean looking ones but i still prefer the s13 silvia..it jus goes with the car if u give us a price range, we might be able to help u out..so..enough said from me.

Yeah there's no OFFICIAL 88' 240sx, but wasn't there a 200sx hatch that was made from 84-88'? This is just a guess. I don't know the exact years of production. IMO nasty looking car, but it's still a Nissan!!

Original poster: Do some searching for bad body damaged cars, or drive around some neighborhoods and look for a 240sx sitting in someones yard, see if they'll sell. I found 3 S13 240sx in one day within a 5 mile radius in Moreno Valley!! They're out there.

Or you could just use Autotrader.com

Good Luck!

Uh. . . .

I've seen some newbie posts in my days, but damn. You need to narrow your question. There are ten years of 240sxes on the road, and the only groundbreakingly big difference is the SOHC/DOHC change in '91.

-How much money are you looking at spending?
-How old are you willing to go?
-What style do you prefer (coupe, hatch, etc)?
-How long before you get your driver's license?

Im Willing to go to 98 if i can find one for under 6g that isnt freaking destroyed which i doubt so a 95-96 i guess. I like the coupe and i get my lisence in a year the real thing. Im no hurry for this but would like to buy a good year then slowly start tuning it etc.

Just wait till you get your license, in a year you'll probably want a different car. And if you still want a s14, get one with a crashed front since you want a s15 front end anyway.

why would you spend the extra $$$ to get a 98 if u were gonna go with S15 front end anyways?? u can save literally thousands with a 95-96

also, S15 front end will look like garbage on an S13 coupe...

u want an s15 front end conversion, yet you dont know which 240 to choose?

a yr till u get ur license? you've got plenty of time to research kid
(and start saving)

i personally dig the kouki s14 front end on a fastback, not that is somthing dope and "unique"

First off, if you have to wait a year even before you get you're liscence, I wouldn't worry too much about a specific one just yet, youre mind will definatley change once you see how things look and how much things cost. But I would like to ask why the hell you would want a 98 if you want to plan on swapping the front end, because the only major difference between that and a 95-96 is the front(I know, I know thats not the only thing, but dont be nitpicky), but the price will be way lower. Still, if you have a year, don't worry about it, and don't make posts about this shit either, its really unnecessary, look for yourself, you said that you have the time.
