Nismo key: Convert from 10pt key to 8pt?

Whilst traveling for business I stopped into a dealership to get a spare key made up for my Xterra. While he was cutting the copy I happened to glance over in the display case and found six uncut NIB 10pt Nismo keys. They didn't have any 8pt key's but I purchased all of the 10pt's as I've heard they can be converted.

Has anyone modified a 10pt key to work with the earlier 8pt lock cylinders? I just thought I'd ask here before I go out and mess one up. Thanks and let me know

Oh, and I couldn't resist, I had to have one cut for the Xterra

Just take it to the locksmith. They should be able to do it. If not, measure and trim the length off carefully with a grinder and match your angles. Should be fine.
