Unknown part of the lower block ka24de
I went to change the the oil pan pan today and it came out with some extra
 I have no idea what it is but its just to the left of where the oil pickup mounts. Any one have an idea as to what this is or if its absolutely necessary?  And here is what fell off ( broke off? )
