Floor paint

Recently bought a s13 240sx that will be my dedicated track car (though no competition for the foreseeable future, just fun). I've stripped the interior to clean everything, removing sound deadening and fix rust spots.

I'm still uncertain what I want to paint the interior with. I have truck bed liner in mind but I'm open to suggestions. What did you guys use and how did it turn out?

I would recommend painting it a "light" color, reason being is if you painted it black for example it will cause it to be hot in the car. If you are worried about it getting dirty and or showing marks on the floor, I would paint the entire interior either white or a very light grey and then simple paint the foot floor portion black or a darker color.

I've seen this guy on youtube (Tom's turbo garage) use it in his LS Miata. They don't seem to have a price for this stuff though. I was hoping to keep the cost pretty low.

Also, I plan on keeping the front interior for now. Once done, only the back will be stripped.

This. Black car with black interior. Black sucked up and radiated heat to other black sections. Repeat. You're basically in an oven. I have my entire firewall wrapped in reflective, and the exhaust is wrapped, still stupid hot.

Sucked enough that we tore everything back out and redid it in silver.

That Tom guy either has a LOT of money to spend, or Summit is hooking him up BIG time. I'd say both.

He used a prestine condition Mazdaspeed Miata for is LS swap for god's sake. You're gonna swap the entire drivetrain, the hell did you need to ruin a speed for?

Very nice! Thanks for the heads up. I have a lift and I'm still jelly of his showroom shop!

The guy is extremely meticulous I'll give him that. He doesn't half-ass stuff. Then again, it's much easier when the wallet can fallow.
