The ECU certainly does sent the signal to the fuel pump relay.
When you turn the key, the click you hear is the ECCS relay (in other words, you turn the ecu on). The ECU then 'primes' the fuel system (runs fuel pump for 5 seconds) then stops it. After that the only time that the fuel pump is running, is when the CAS is turning around. (CAS - Crankshaft Angle Sensor). There is a small switch inside the ECU that goes bad sometimes, it is user serviceble IF you can solder very well and know where to look. |
