S13 oil pressure light on when cold out
So like last week it was pretty cold here in Chicago n my oil pressure light came on and stayed on so I parked the car n Tryed the next day same thing light flashed n stayed on. This week it's been warmer so gave it another try and it went right off. I drove the last 3 days no problem never saw the light. Today it's cold again and go to start the car bam same problem light stays on. I replaced the sending unit n oil pressure seems to be fine. Any one have the same problem with their ka?

probably a SOHC
oil pumps get worn out, you probably need to change it. |

Change you oil to heavier weight for thewinter. Its Cold out so your oil pressure will drop. Once you drive the car and the oil warms up the light should go out.

Actually your oil pressure is higher when cold due to the oil being thicker. Your pump is likely worn. I would put a real guage on it so you know what your pressure us actually at.

funny thing though, if you hit corners at high speeds often like i did.. you starve the oil pump and lifters unless you have a baffled pan. i remember coming out of turns hearing my lifters, took a bit of idling to get that to stop... baffled oilpans are needed if you want to save that pump |
