Help... KA24DE Overheating
Alright I dont understand whats going on here... My 92 s13 is being very selective with me... It overheats from time to time and when I was away at school my dad would drive it with no problems. I replaced the radiator with an aluminum one. Put a bigger 12" electric fan on it opposed to the stock one. Kept the clutch fan with stock shroud. Changed the water pump and the thermostat.
It will usually drive for about 15 miles at perfect operating temperature and then all of a sudden spike up to pinned at the "H". Now it seems like after I changed all of this it is overheating faster but then sometimes it doesnt even overheat at all. When it does overheat though I can hear the coolant boiling in the upper radiator hose. Please help... Im stumped. Thanks. |

I have tried a fee times. I cracked open that bleeder screw and squeezed the upper radiator hose a few times. Do you know the complete process or the best way to bleed it?

yea i did mine a few months ago...but just rebleed it and you should be golden. good luck man or....one of my friends said leave your radiator cap off overnight and when you wake up in the morning add fluid if needed then do it again every night till you dont need to add fluid....thats what ended up working for me

if the problem still isnt fixed, when i bleed my coolant system i jack up the front of my car so that the radiator filler neck is the highest point or your cooling system take the cap off, start it, all the air in the system will go right out and then you can fill it from there.. never had any problems by doing this! if your still overheating after that let us know!

Hopefully not but it may be the head gasket. Happened on my gf grand am. Check all cooling system, new sensor, flush, thermostat and then finally, milkshake for oil.
