Externally gated gt2871r tial 44mm tune

So, I have an sr tuned on a gt2871r on 16psi making 300 Ish hp, I wanna go externally gated and now have a modded manifold and tial 44mm external waste gate. I haven't installed it yet, but I was wondering if I installed my external wastegate if it would screw with the tune, I just don't want it to lean out and explode, my tuner won't be back in the country for another 2 weeks and I have a drift event I wanna hit. Should I be alright? Cause my stock manifold is cracked and not holding boost, which is why I'm switching to the new manifold. Help would be greatly appreciated.

you would need a new tune. What size spring in that 44mm?

You'll most likely be fine. Do you have a wideband?

An ECB with adjustable gain is going to help you the most.

So I traded the 44mm setup for a 38mm setup, it has a 10 pound spring in it. This manifold is all ceramic coated and whatnot, and I got cash ontop. I have a wideband, and an e-boost street e40, I just don't know if I should swap the manifold off for this modded one.

you will be fine. the external will flow more exhaust, limiting the boost pressure quicker than with an internal. if the car was spiking before and the tune could handle it, it wont be a problem now.

Not a problem. If anything you'll flow some more air, maf will take care of it, and timing will go down at the same boost pressure.

I'm making 317, but my boost pressure always drops from 16 to 14 lol, which is why I'm going externally gated. I made a block off plate for the internal wastegate, so we will see what happens tomorrow

you got another problem if your 2871 cant maintain 16psi ... it should be able to push 22psi at least at redline.

I think it's my wastegate a fault, I fixed it, it can hold 16 psi happily.
