Ok here's my my situation. I live two hours away from my 240. It has a very rusty frame and some engine problems but nothing serious. It hasn't been to inspected yet neither. I really don't want junk it. This will be the 2nd project that I'll give up on and I don't want to give up another project again. I barely have any money and I have no place to tow it from neighbor's house. It has to be towed, because something about tax time and state putting a sticker on it then tow it away. Which I don't want that to happen. Also I lost my keys and theignition switch is a betch to come off. I know about cars but I'm not that hands on tho. What would you guys do in this sucky situation?

man if you really dont have that much money and have to tow it and have no plce to put it, I would try and sell it then.

right now it seems like a headache better to wait until you have the money to dump into it.

You should just see if someone on here wants to buy it for a good deal. Put some cash in your pocket and raise your personal financial security a little.

I agree with what you guys are saying. My friends tell me the same, but I don't want to feel like another loser who's given up on another good project. The frame can replaceable. I was sthinking of going through an hot inspection that way I could pass with the rusty bad frame.

Cars are an expensive hobby, even if you did pass whatever inspection you're going through, you will just have a rusty bad frame and you'll probably end up in the same situation later on down the line.

I agree with what everyone says about improving your money situation first. I have spent a couple grand already on my SR swap and there still some things I need, not including 3 years worth of registration fees, but I'm just describing my personal situation

My project has been sitting for 3+ years due to lack of funds, I just now started with my financial security so its almost completed.

The point is, if you can't afford the project at the time, don't worry because you can always come back to it later. -edit- 400th poast cherry popped

No one is going to think you're a loser. Just sell it. Pocket the extra cash and come back to a project when you are good and ready to begin one. You'll be more of a loser if you try to do a half-assed project with a lack of funds.

You would just be a "half-assed" loser

He means don't bother building the car half-assed. If you don't have the money now to do it right, then wait until you do. For now, part it out. Then after you pay your bills or what not with the money you make, put the rest in a savings account and keep adding to it. This will give you plenty of time to find a rust free chassis to start your build. You will also have emergency funds just encase you need it instead of the money sitting there in the form of a rusty ass 240.

This is really easy bro. You state you're low on funds. Fixing up cars is expensive. Period. No matter how you look at it...you kinda throwing money into a bottomless pit. For a car to have some serious rust issues...trying to "fix" that, is really a car in itself. If I were you, I would part the car out and get as much money from it as possible. Wait until you bank account grows enough to a point where buying a decent car (and when I say this, I mean no issues. No rust. no electrical bugs. etc...) wont effect your daily living situations. I say that because Ive seen people buy cars "that only need this and that" and it really turns out to be more of a headache than anything else. Trust me when I say its worth paying a little bit more for something clean and reliable then a "fixer upper" . Hope this helps..

I get what you guys are saying, but I don't have any main engine trouble. Just some fuel issues. I'm not sure if you guys ever gave up on a project before, but I tell you what it sucks. As long as find some good place to get it towed other than a grassy or dirty ground I'll be fine.

I never said anything about giving up on the 240. Honestly progress had been made with the car because when I got it. It had no motor in. Had to carry the motor in a back of a U-Haul truck 4-5 hours away and to find out later down the road it had an knock. I did have mixed feelings towards it tho.

Sounds like you need to get your priority straightened out...for almost all of us, cars are a hobby, nothing more, nothing less. Get yourself into a better situation before you play with cars. Get financially stable first, learn how to work on cars better by helping friends out with theirs. Sometimes having a project car isnt the best situation for some folks...start with a drivable car then slowly tinker with it.
