Dude, you're asking 500 bucks more than I paid for my running s13.
And, what's the head gasket got to do with anything? If the timing chain really broke, unless the motor stopped like, instantly, I'd imagine it crushed your valves anyway, so replacing your head gasket is one of the things that MUST be done to make it run. If you lived next door to me, I'd say 200 bucks, and I'll get it out of your driveway. Especially considering it's flat "satin" black, and on megans. |

You can take your flaming some where else no one cares what you paid for your 240 because it was probably a piece of shit anyways. If you must know the timing chain did not break while the motor was on it broke with the motor off so no it's not crushing the valves. So that would mean the head gasket has quite a bit to do with it because its something that the next owner wouldn't have to worry about if they wanted to get the car running again. Next time you have something to say don't because your slightly retarded and the world would be a better place if you just shut up.

Once again if you don't know what your talking about don't post. It's not physically impossible if you knew anything about a motor you would know that in order to remove the upper timing chain the car needs to be at TDC (that's top dead center for your information) and in order to do that you need to spin the crank. The lower timing chain I'm assuming was cracked and when I was turning the crank it broke so really not impossible. And also I have owned the car for a year and a half and it was my daily driver the whole time. If you have a question on the car pm me rather then posting your stupidity here.

Well the way u worded it, it sounded like it was sitting and just broke. Not trying to shit up ur for sale thread, unfortunately I just see a lot of people getting dooped into buying other peoples problems and being lied to about the cars they are buying on this forum. Just tryna keep everybody honest. And I do know what I'm talking about. I've rebuilt engines and transmissions for a living for ten years. By the way you worded it, it was fine one day and then magically snapped the next without running. Which IS impossible |

No I understand I didn't do the best on wording. But to clear the air on it I had just gotten the car back up and running after doing the head gasket so I went and got an oil change and the place I took it too put in 5w30 oil instead if 10w30 which caused low oil pressure in the car and the chain tensioners to not work properly. This intern caused the chain to rattle and skip. The car was driven back into my garage where I started to take everything back apart that's when I was rotating the crank to get it to tdc so I could check to make sure the chain hadn't skipped any theeth and thats when the chain broke. So I'm not trying to screw anyone over with this if it has a problem I will tell you just not in the place right now to keep the car otherwise i would as it wouldnt cost to much to get it back up and running.
