DOHC and SOHC clutch kits the same?

i thougth they were the same until my friend told me the pressure plates for the sohc is different than the dohc. they wont bolt up or something?

herse the situation. i have a dohc car with spec stage 3 and fidanza flywheel. i just bought an sohc auto car which i need to convert to manual. so i was hoping to take the spec stage 3 and fidanza and put it in my sohc car and buy a 100 oem exedy clutch kit to put in the dohc car so i can sell it. the sohc kit i see is for sohc and i thought it would fit my dohc but now im having 2nd thoughts..

does anyone know for sure b/c i hope i can use my spec stage 3 in my sohc. the flywheel should be universal but the clutch kit is what confuses me. i dont want to buy an sohc kit off ebay and find out it wont fit the dohc car. what should i do?

I have a tranny from an 89 in my 96. When I was shopping for the clutch kit, I found that the part #s where the same. I think it will work.
I just did a search on ACT website ( the clutch kit I put in my car ) and the pressure plate part #s are the same for the 89-90 and the 91-94. I think you can be pretty confident it will work.

Edit: Some guy on this forum told me that he KNEW for sure that the 89 tranny would not work in my S14 because they where different motors. Do your own research.
